If Ben Harper and Stevie Ray Vaughn met at Van Morrison’s house to jam with the Counting Crows, it might sound a lot like Erich Munzner and Good Fortune. Insightful, intelligent lyrics coupled with infectious melodies, solid grooves and out of this world guitar work is what you’d expect from the former; and is definitely achieved by the latter.

 In the overly saturated music market of Southern California, there are few bands that can boast the musicianship and credentials of Erich Munzner and Good Fortune. The name doesn’t imply anything so ephemeral and fuzzy as luck or fortune, but describes the band’s own feelings of being fortunate to have the chops to make downright, good music. That’s what it’s always been about for these guys and there’s no sign of that attitude changing. Attempting to list every project and performance or drop the names of every who’s who these guys have played with (which Hank just hates), would only muddy the task of defining what this band brings to the stage.
